R4 Card Waiting For Firmware Update After DSi Gets Firmware Update.
Getting a firmware update for any game system these days is more than norm, than the exception, and it’s the same whether you have the Sony PSP or your trusty old Nintendo DS or DSi console. And as expected, what this usually means is that the NDS homebrew cards like the R4 Card end up not working until there is a new firmware released for the the R4.
Nintendo has released a new firmware update for the DSi — the first update in over a year. This update does not offer any new functionality, but what has happened is that it has made it so that the Nintendo R4 Card does not at present work – along with numerous other flash cards too.
As such, we are recommending that our customers do not update their firmware as there is absolutely no need to do so, especially in light of no new features or functions that are added by way of the update for the Nintendo DSi.
If you enjoy playing your homebrew games and applications, there is absolutely no need to update at this time. Your homebrew games, and apps and the developers behind them are not going anywhere. As it has in the past I am certain that a new firmware will be released allowing you to once again start playing your favorite homebrew games, etc… On your Nintendo DSi console.
With the help of the built in movie player, you’ll also be right back to watching your favorite movies again, as soon as the firmware update is completed.
For thos of you who may not know what the R4 Card is, it is a flash card that lets you use microSD Card media to store and load your games, movies, music and much more on your Nintendo DS or DSi console. It works and acts like a regular Nintendo DS or Nintendo DSi cartridge, but with so much more to offer than your average single game card.
Once a new firmware is released for the R4 Card, I will be writing about it to ver any new featurs, functions or any new changes to the Nintendo R4 DS Card. I will not update this article, but will write a new article, so as I said, make sure you keep checking back for updates.
